Most people think that when an appliance breaks down they need to invest in a new one. Although this may be true for a 15 year old freezer for example, a lot of times repairing the appliance can extend it's life for many more years.
If your freezer is starting to show any of the following issues, it may be time to have it checked by a technician. Here are some of those issues: frost is building up, freezer is too cold or too warm, food gets freezer burnt, or if it's making too much noise.
A common issue with your freezer could be that it is no longer freezing food. If your freezer won't freeze, the main reason could be that the condenser coils are dirty reducing the cooling power. Another reason may be that the evaporator's fan motor is malfunctioning or broken, thus no air is circulating inside the freezer.
